If you've been around here for a while, you already know my secret. Some of my vices, flaws, and a few bits of madness (which are not few). What you don't know yet is my habit of giving thanks. For everything. Every day.
In this post, I want to make you reflect on the many facets of your life for which you can be grateful. Surely you also have reasons to complain. But the truth is, the more grateful you are to life, the more reasons it will give you to continue being grateful. Keep reading, and I'll tell you.
Pause for a moment.
Make the effort. Stop spinning on that hamster wheel we're all running on every day. Get off and think. How many things can I be grateful for today?
It might be basic things like having a roof over your head, food, health, work, or people to share all of the above with. It could also be deeper things ,like a purpose in life, a vocation, or a dream. Being excited gives you a hundred horsepower to establish lasting habits. I refer you to this post to remember the importance of habits.
In the virtue of being grateful, traveling helps a lot. The more of the world you see, the more you realize how lucky you are. Especially if you encounter cultures very different from your own. Experience is also a degree. As you get older, you realize that what seemed extremely important to you a few years ago wasn't really that crucial. Hence the title of today's post, it's about living well (not just being born as the saying goes), being grateful.
Double-edged sword
If you're not entirely convinced about constantly giving thanks, I'll help you a little more. The danger doesn't just lie in not being aware of the luck you have. On the contrary, if you're a fan of complaining and feeling offended, the universe will continue to bring you situations and people to turn you into a first-class nitpicker. It will give you reason, yes, but what do you prefer, being right or being happy??
Beware of the law of attraction. You attract it even if you don't want it, just because you think about it and are constantly in that tune. I gave you tools to learn how to change frequency here.
There are only two ways to live life: one is to think that nothing is a miracle, and the other is to believe that everything is.

Gratitude Journal
I love writing. Especially by hand. I have dozens of notebooks started, with my eternal lists (and lists of lists), budgets, stories, and some drawings.
For a few years now, I've also had a gratitude journal. Several authors highlight the benefits of spending a few minutes each day writing down three reasons why you're grateful.
Try it out for the next few weeks or make it a New Year's challenge. It won't take you more than 5 minutes, and the results are sure to come soon.
The root of all goodness grows in the soil of gratitude.

I hope this post brings you many reasons to give thanks. For now, I thank you for reading this far.
See you soon and happy reading!
